It Started With One Chemical and a Clear Gap in the Market
In 2002, Mr. S.C. Damani and Mr. Amrut Patel made a straightforward observation: India’s Copper Phthalocyanine pigment manufacturers were importing key raw materials that could and should be made domestically.
Damani brought decades of hands-on chemical engineering experience to the table. Patel brought the commercial structure to run a business. Together, they set up shop at GIDC Vatva, Ahmedabad, and began manufacturing Cuprous Chloride and Cupric Chloride right where demand was growing fastest.
What started as a focused two-product operation grew steadily.
Today, Meghachem is recognised as one of the largest manufacturers of Cuprous Chloride in India, with a product portfolio spanning copper, tin, molybdate, ferrous sulphate, and titanium dioxide supplying industries from electroplating to pharmaceuticals across four continents.
